How we make money

Referral commissions

BillBetter is free to use. We make money when you switch to a new electricity plan through our site. When you click through to a retailer and sign up, the retailer pays us a referral commission. This is similar to how comparison sites work in insurance, home loans, and flights.

Does this affect the results you see?

No. Our comparison results are ranked by estimated annual savings for your specific usage — full stop. We do not accept payment from retailers to rank their plans higher. We do not hide plans that don't pay us. All plans in our database are shown if they're competitive for your usage.

Our independence commitment

We commit to the following:

• Plans are ranked by savings, not commission rate
• We show plans even if they don't pay us a commission
• We never accept payments to feature a plan prominently
• We disclose where commission arrangements exist

We do not sell your data

Our only revenue is commissions from retailers when you switch. Your data stays yours.
